.bw is the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Botswana . It was introduced on March 19, 1993 and is currently administered by the Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA).

properties

Initially, .bw was not actively used; registrations under the top-level domain have only been possible since 2011. According to reports, the state regulator for telecommunications offers the allocation of domains . Anyone can register a .bw domain; the address is also open to foreigners. After submitting the application, the registration must be expressly confirmed by email .

In October 2013, the registry announced that it was preparing a restart of the top-level domain. As part of this, .bw is to be integrated into the state campaign Proudly Botswana .
