On October 1, 1999, the ISO added the country code PS for the Palestinian territories to the ISO 3166-1 coding list . On October 11, 1999, Palestinian representatives applied for the top-level domain .ps. The IANA accepted the application and on March 22, 2000 delegated .ps to the Government Computer Center at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation . In 2004 the Government Computer Center was transferred to the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology , and the IANA formally delegated the top-level domain to new contacts.
In February 2013 the ISO changed the assigned name of the ISO 3166 country code PS from " Palestinian Territory, Occupied " to " Palestine, State of ", which the IANA adopted a few days later in the address data of the responsible contact person.
Award criteria
There are no particular restrictions on .ps. Any natural or legal person can register a domain, a residence or a branch in Palestine is not necessary. While the practice of the registry is comparatively liberal, the fees for a domain are at an internationally high level.
