.sc is the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the state of Seychelles . It has existed since May 9, 1997 and is administered by VCS Pty Ltd , based in Victoria on Mahe .

A .sc domain can be between three and 63 characters long and only contain alphanumeric characters . You do not need to be resident or have a branch in the Seychelles to register a .sc domain. In addition to .sc, there are the second-level domains .com.sc for companies and .net.sc for Internet service providers and .org.sc for non-profit organizations .

Others

In September 2008, the registry came under fire after it increased the fees for .sc domains to a multiple of the previous cost. Experts classified the measure as an arbitrary action .
