.ua is the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Ukraine . It was introduced on December 1, 1992 , and Hostmaster Ltd. based in Kiev is responsible for the operational operation of the top-level domain.

history

The top-level domain .ua is the direct successor of the Soviet address .su , which still exists today (just like numerous other ccTLDs) but will soon be deleted. In the course of this, owners of a .su domain based in Ukraine can exercise a special right to change. In November 2013 .ua was supplemented by the Cyrillic variant .укр , so that internationalized domain names are now fully supported.

properties

Compared to other ccTLDs, a .ua domain can only be ordered by private individuals and companies that own a trademark that is valid in Ukraine . In total, a .ua domain can be between three and 63 characters long, and the connection takes up to a week. Special characters in the Punycode procedure are generally supported, but cannot be used by every domain registrar .

The third-level domain .com.ua can be registered by private individuals and companies worldwide without restrictions.
