.ug

.ug is the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Uganda . It has existed since March 8, 1995 and is operated by Uganda Online Ltd. with headquarters in Kampala .

properties

A .ug domain can be between three and 63 characters long, with only alphanumeric characters being used. Special characters in the Punycode procedure are not possible. An address is assigned in real time and usually only takes one day. Registrations are carried out on both the second and third level. The following second-level domains are available:

• ac.ug - academic institutions
• co.ug - commercial organizations
• or.ug - non-profit organizations
• org.ug - non-profit organizations
• ne.ug - Internet Service Provider
• sc.ug - education sectors
• go.ug - government
• com.ug - economy

Since 2004, any natural or legal person worldwide has been able to order a .ug domain. A residence or a branch in Uganda is no longer necessary.
