.gp is the country-specific top-level domain (ccTLD) for the French overseas territory of Guadeloupe . It has existed since October 21, 1996 and is administered by the Network Technologies Group based in Baie-Mahault .

properties

Any natural or legal person may register a .gp domain, a residence or branch in Guadeloupe is not required. Any alphanumeric characters can be used, but internationalized domain names are not supported. Since 2008 it has also been possible to register domains with only one or two characters.

meaning

In 2011, the Association Française pour le Nommage Internet en Coopération announced that it wanted to market the top-level domain .gp more strongly, along with other country endings it manages. Nevertheless, .gp is comparatively insignificant internationally.
