.je is the country-specific top-level domain (ccTLD) for the British island of Jersey . It has existed since August 8, 1996 and is administered by the local company Island Networks .

properties

A .je domain can be between one and 63 characters long and only contain alphanumeric characters . The allocation is automated and is usually completed after two days. A residence or an office in Jersey are not required to register a .je domain. In addition to the addresses on the second level, domains under .co.je or .org.je are also assigned, which are specifically aimed at commercial companies or non-profit organizations.

In the course of the introduction of new top-level domains , a dispute between Island Networks, which is now known as TLD Registry Services , and TLD Registrar Services became known. The similar names of two applicants was previously not provided for in the guidelines of ICANN .
