.bb is the country-specific top-level domain (ccTLD) for the island state of Barbados . It was introduced on September 3, 1991 and is administered by the state Ministry of Economic Affairs and Development .

Domains under .bb could be registered from 1999, before the address was not actively used. A subsidiary of the British company Cable & Wireless was responsible for the ccTLD until 2007, but later gave up its tasks due to little interest in the government of the country. This further allows only natural and legal persons to register a domain who can prove a place of residence or a branch in Barbados.
Domains are assigned both second and third level. There are a total of second-level domains : .com.bb for companies , .net.bb for Internet service providers , .org.bb for non-profit organizations , .gov.bb for government and other government agencies, .info.bb for general information of any kind, .co.bb for all other organizations, .store.bb for online shops , .tv.bb for television stations and .biz.bb for commercial providers as an alternative to .com.bb .
