.hr is the country-specific top-level domain (ccTLD) for Croatia . It was introduced on February 27, 1993 and is administered by the registry CARNet ( Croatian Academic and Research Network , in German Science and Research Network Croatia ).

A .hr domain can be between three and 63 characters long, internationalized domain names are not possible. Domains under .com.hr, however, can be registered by anyone anywhere in the world. In addition to .com.hr there are also from.hr, name.hr and iz.hr.

According to a survey by McAfee from 2009, .hr was the fourth most secure top-level domain in the world.
