from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

.gh is the country-specific top-level domain (ccTLD) for the West African state Ghana . It was introduced on January 19, 1995 and is administered by Network Computer Systems Limited , headquartered in Accra .

properties

In addition to the top-level domain, there are numerous second-level domains , for example .com.gh for companies, .edu.gh for educational institutions, .gov.gh for the government and other authorities in Ghana, .org.gh for non-profit organizations and .mil.gh for the military. First of all, it was necessary that at least the administrative contact person was based in Ghana - it was not until 2012 that the guidelines were changed due to a change in the registry so that .gh could be registered by anyone without restrictions. A .gh domain may be between two and 63 characters long and only contain alphanumeric characters .

Others

In the course of the introduction of new top-level domains , it became known that the registry of .gh supports the generic address .africa . It should not replace .gh, but even promote the spread of domains on the African continent .
