properties

Any natural or legal person can apply for a .bs domain; a place of residence or a branch in the country is not necessary. Domains can be registered on both the second and third level, until 2013 the following second-level domains existed :

  • .com.bs for commercial companies
  • .edu.bs for educational institutions
  • .gov.bs for the government of the Bahamas
  • .net.bs for internet service providers
  • .org.bs for non-profit organizations

The registry of .bs was among the first eleven organizations to be recognized by the World Intellectual Property Organization's arbitration tribunal . Disputes about a .bs domain could therefore be carried out there.
