.gy is the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) of Guyana . It was on 13. September 1994 introduced and managed by the University of Guyana or its Center for Information Technology (Center for Information Technology managed).

A .gy domain can be between three and 63 characters long; special characters cannot be used. A place of residence or a branch in the country is not necessary for registration , so the address is also open to foreigners. In addition to .gy, there are numerous second-level domains , such as .com.gy and .co.gy for companies and .net.gy for Internet service providers . In 2007, .gy attracted more attention after registrations were blocked for a long time by the registry.
