Owschlag ( Danish : Okslev ) is a municipality in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in Schleswig-Holstein. Norby, Boklund, Ramsdorf ( Ramstorp ), Sorgwohld ( Sorgvold ) and Steinsieken ( Stensig ) are in the municipality.
Geography and traffic
Owschlag is about eight km north of Rendsburg and 13 km south of Schleswig on the edge of the Hüttener Mountains . The federal highway 7 runs to the east from Hamburg to Flensburg, to the west the federal highway 77 runs from Rendsburg to Schleswig. The railway line that connects both cities has a train station in town. Until 1954 there was a railway line of the Eckernförde Kreisbahnen from Owschlag to Eckernförde .
The Owschlager Lake of the same name is located in the municipality .

The place was first mentioned around 1500 as to Osslachte . He belonged to the Eckernförde district until it was dissolved.

65% of the population are Protestant, 4% Catholic. The Protestant Church of the Redeemer belongs to the Rendsburg-Eckernförde parish of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany . The few Catholics of the place belong to the parish of St. Martin in Rendsburg , Archdiocese of Hamburg .

Sports
The handball division of TSV Owschlag is known nationwide thanks to the 1st women's team and the female youth A representation. Both teams played in the respective Regionalliga Nordost. Lone Fischer , who now plays in the first Bundesliga at Buxtehuder SV, played for TSV Owschlag from 2002 to 2008.
The merger of the handball division of TSV Owschlag with the former HSG Kropp-Tetenhusen in 2015 resulted in the HG Owschlag-Kropp-Tetenhusen . The 1st women's team plays in the 3rd division, while the 2nd women's team plays in the Oberliga HH / SH . The female youth sector also plays in the highest age group from the C youth.
