Bank places of the Deutsche Bundesbank

Clearing areas

The first three digits of the German bank code are referred to as the bank locations of the Deutsche Bundesbank .

A banking center is a city in which a branch of the Deutsche Bundesbank , formerly the Landeszentralbank , has its seat. Using the bank location number, the location of a bank can be found and assigned to a specific region (such as the zip code or telephone area code).

The first digit of the bank code is called the clearing area number. The following two digits indicate the Bundesbank affiliation of the respective credit institution .

As of October 2015 there are only 35 Bundesbank branches (formerly the main offices of the Landeszentralbank, LZB) in metropolises such as Stuttgart. The Bundesbank has announced that it will further reduce the number of branches.

Sorted place numbers

The last branch in Lörrach was only available for the pure euro cash supply, the additional remaining business was mainly done by the respective branch. However, this last existing operating point was closed on October 1, 2012.
