The Schweizer Straße ( L 202 ) is a state road in Austria . It has a length of 10.5 km and runs from the Vorarlberg state capital Bregenz via Hard and Fußach to the state border with Switzerland at Höchst .

history

The road from Bregenz via Höchst to Lustenau was built in 1771–1772.

The 1.7 km long Höchster Straße led from Rheinstraße (L 203) in Höchst to the Swiss border and was called Reichsstraße XVI in the Austro-Hungarian Empire . In 1921 this former Reichsstraße was taken over as a federal highway. After the annexation of Austria , Höchster Strasse was run as part of Reichsstrasse 12 until 1945 .

The 9.4 km long road between Lauterach and St. Margrethen has been continuously referred to as the Swiss road since 1948 . The Schweizer Straße began in Bregenz in 1958 and has been 11 km long since then.

L202
Like the other former federal highways, Schweizer Straße was part of the federal administration. Since April 1, 2002 it has been under state administration. In the other federal states, the conventional street name is continued with B - in Vorarlberg, however, the streets taken over by the federal government have an L in the name like all other Vorarlberg regional streets .
