List of soccer top scorer (Sweden)

Allsvenskan logo

The list of Allsvenskan's top scorer in football includes all of the Allsvenskan's top scorer since it was founded in the 1924/25 season . Furthermore, the most successful players and most successful clubs as well as the ten best goal scorers in the history of the league are named. The top scorer is the player who scores the most goals in the course of a season. In 90 seasons so far 83 different players have been top scorer of the Allsvenskan, whereby the title has been shared several times.

The most successful player was the later in the Italian Serie A active Gunnar Nordahl with four titles, followed by Carl-Erik Holmberg , Karl-Alfred Jacobsson , Bo Larsson and Jan Mattsson , each were three times scorer. Filip Johansson from IFK Göteborg set a record that is still valid today with his 39 goals in 22 games this season in the Allsvenskan debut season in 1924/25. The negative record dates back to the 1985 season, when Sören Börjesson from Örgryte IS , Peter Karlsson and Billy Lansdowne from Kalmar FF each handed ten goals this season to the title of top scorer, five years later Kaj Eskelinen equalized this value.

Most of the top scorer are the record champions IFK Göteborg, from whose ranks 16 title holders come. Behind them is Malmö FF with eleven top scorers ahead of Helsingborgs IF with ten and IFK Norrköping with nine title winners. In the 2010 season, two clubs "shared" the title holder for the first time in the history of the league, as Alexander Gerndt had moved from Gefle IF to Helsingborgs IF during the season .

Since both the mode in which the Swedish championship is played and the number of teams playing in the Allsvenskan have changed several times over time, the number of goals and the average number of goals per game between the individual seasons can be determined difficult to compare.

Between 1924 and 1973, twelve teams played in the Allsvenskan, so that - with the exception of the 1957/58 season , when three games against other teams took place within the calendar year due to the change from the autumn / spring rhythm to a different style of play - 22 games were played each season were. Then there were 26 game days with 14 teams, until the mode was changed again from the 1982 season and twelve teams competed in the league, whose top-ranked teams played off the national champions in a final - goals scored in the final do not count in the statistics. For the seasons 1991 and 1992 another change followed, the league played after a regular playing time divided into two groups for championship or relegation, before the classic league mode was reintroduced with 14 teams. For the 2008 season , the league was increased to 16 teams.
