The Brixentalstraße ( B 170 ) is a state road in the Tyrolean Unterland in Austria .

Beginning of the B 170 at the Kirchbichl-Luech roundabout

The road begins at the junction of Loferer Straße (B 178) at the Luech roundabout in the municipality of Kirchbichl with kilometer 4.8 and runs through the Brixental via Hopfgarten im Brixental , Westendorf , Brixen im Thale and Kirchberg in Tirol to Kitzbühel , where it is in the Pass-Thurn-Straße (B 161) opens. The places Brixen and Kirchberg are bypassed with underground routes. The total length is 25.22 km.

Until November 2007 the B 170 began in Wörgl (on the B 171 ), since the completion of the Bruckhäusl bypass of the B 178, the part to Pinnersdorf is the municipal road of the city of Wörgl, the part from Pinnersdorf to what was then Spange Luech . The B 170 now begins at the Luech roundabout with kilometer 4.8 on Kirchbichler municipality area. The bridge over the Brixentaler Ache was raised by around two meters as part of the renovation (previously: Spange Luech, see photo).

The Brixen street belongs since April 1, 1948 the network of federal roads in Austria . By federal law of March 24, 1958, the name of this street was changed to Brixental Straße .

On May 15, 2002 the name of the Tyrolean state parliament was changed to Brixentalstraße .

In 2018, an average of 9892 vehicles in Windau and 13,422 vehicles in Gundhabing were counted in 24 hours.

 B170  Like the other former federal highways, Brixentalstrasse was part of the federal administration. Since April 1, 2002, it has been under state administration and continues to have the B in the number, but not the name Bundesstraße.
