Grand Theft Auto IV soundtrack

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The soundtrack of the game Grand Theft Auto IV consists of various in-game radio stations. These transmitters can be heard in vehicles, boats, flying objects and in the start menu. There are 19 in-game radio stations in the game (+ Independence FM in the PC version) with more than 200 titles.

When purchasing the add-ons Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned and Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony , over 50 new songs will be added to the radio stations per expansion.

For licensing reasons, an update was distributed for all versions on April 26, 2018 that removed over 40 songs from the in-game soundtrack and replaced them with 11 new ones.

Michael Hunter composed and produced other music for the film sequences.

Radio station ( talk radio )

These radio stations do not play music, only spoken programs.

Integrity 2.0

Moderator: Lazlow

This station accompanies Lazlow on his trip to Liberty City and tells stories about Lazlow's life. During the program, he interviews a pervert, a hot dog seller, a taxi driver and an artist who is making a music video about rain. He also talks to various people, including calling him an asshole, telling him to speak more quietly or that he is an old man.

The station is only available with the opening of the bridges to Algonquin, before the radio news reports often of Lazlow's return. This makes Integrity 2.0 the first radio station in the GTA series that will be unlocked during the game.

PLR - Public Liberty Radio

Program: The Séance
Moderator: Beatrix Fontaine ( Ilyana Kadushin )

Program: Pacemaker
Moderator: Ryan McFallon ( Bryan Tucker )

Program: Intelligent Agenda
Moderator: Mike Riley ( Brian Sack )

From a political point of view, PLR is left-wing ( “liberal” in America ) and is in contrast to WKTT - We Know The Truth. This characterizes and satirizes the rivalry between the two different political camps in the USA ( liberal versus conservative ). The program only includes call-in formats on various social and political topics, including a. an esoteric program ( The Séance ) and talk shows.

WKTT - We Know The Truth

Program: Richard Bastion Show
Moderator: Richard Bastion (portrayed by Jason Sudeikis )

Program: Just or Unjust
Moderator: Judge Grady ( Michael-Leon Wooley )

Program: Fizz!
Moderator: Jane Labrador (Melinda Wade), Marcel LeMuir (voiced by Fez Whatley ), Jeffron James (voiced by Patrice O'Neal )

Program: The Martin Serious Show
Moderator: Martin Serious, Lisa Lynn, Mark the Manager, Smithy the Stunt Boy (East Side Dave MacDonald of the Ron and Fez Show)
only in Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned and Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City .

Program: Conspire
Moderator: John Smith
in Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony and Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City only

WKKT is a parody of the conservative talk radios in the USA and the “counterpart” to the PLR ( “liberal media” ). Programs include the Richard Bastion Show , a right-wing phone caller talk show parodying the Rush Limbaugh show , the radio court show Just or Unjust, and the radio boulervard magazine Fizz . In GTA: Episodes of Liberty City still comes The Martin Serious Show , a parody of The Howard Stern Show , and Conspire , a program that conspiracy treated so.

Before the release of GTA IV, Rockstar Games started a promotional campaign and put a website on the Internet that referred to this radio station. A telephone number was stored on the homepage that could be called. If you then called the number, you had the chance to be included with your voice in the later GTA IV and to talk to a presenter on the transmitter.
