Bielle is a French municipality with 390 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the canton of Oloron-Sainte-Marie-2 (until 2015: canton of Laruns ) in the arrondissement of Oloron-Sainte-Marie .
geography
The mountain village is located 27 kilometers south of Pau in the Pyrenees National Park in the Vallée d'Ossau valley , which was created by the Gave d'Ossau . The mountain pass Col de Marie-Blanque (1035 meters) connects the neighboring municipality of Bilhères with Escot in the Vallée d'Aspe . This route was often included in the Tour de France in the past . Neighboring municipalities to Bielle are:
