Louvie-Soubiron was in 1615 together with the Listo Baronat charged that as a vassal of the Viscount was subject of Béarn. In the 17th century the community owned iron mines and stone quarries for the extraction of white marble , which are no longer in operation today. The marble from Louvie-Soubiron was used for well-known buildings such as the parish church La Madeleine in Paris , the statues of the Place de la Concorde or for the castles of Fontainebleau and Versailles . Over time, mining became unprofitable due to the laborious transport on ox carts and the damage to the vein through the use of dynamite .

Attractions
- Parish church of Louvie-Soubiron, dedicated to Martin of Tours . The origins of today's church go back to a building from the 12th century. Around 1880 the church was redesigned so that from the Romanesque era only the flat apse survived the centuries. Pastor Casabonne had today's bell tower and the south aisle built according to plans by the architect Sabatté from Laruns. Materials from the demolished church in Eaux-Bonnes were reused, such as B. Stone of the entrance for the frame and the triangular gable. Inside , the church has a reredos on the main altar , grouped around a painting depicting Saint Martin as a Roman soldier cutting his cloak in half with his sword on a winter evening in order to share it with one arm. The tabernacle is richly decorated with representations of figures and angels as well as with the motif of the Annunciation with the Archangel Gabriel on the left of the door and Mary on the right. An oil painting in the church shows a portrait of Mary , which puts the human tenderness of Mary in the foreground and less her spiritual nature, which is underlined by the use of pastel colors and a subtle play with light. Nor does she wear the usual blue coat, but a pink dress with green drapery . Shown in profile and bent over the baby Jesus, she draws him to her. The baby Jesus, naked and plump, tries to stand up to touch his mother's face. The church's round holy water font is made from a single block of white marble from one of the Louvie-Soubiron quarries.
