Attractions

  • Parish church, dedicated to John the Baptist , was destroyed like many churches during the Huguenot War. The current church was built in the 17th century. The bell gable has the characteristic shape of a clocher trinitaire as a symbol of the Trinity . Because of the three crosses on the tops of the roof tops of the gable, a connection with the Passion of Christ on Mount Golgotha can be established. The covered porch protects the side entrance portal , framed in a round arch made of ashlar . The interior of the church is divided into a main aisle and a side aisle. Probably in the 19th century, the interior received wall paintings with floral motifs, the colors of which depend on the respective altar in the vicinity.
  • At the end of an alley surrounded by lush vegetation stands, built at the end of the 18th century castle, the façade with orange trim, which is in contrast to the bright square stones that frame the windows in a semicircular arch, is the so-called Ile-de-France - Style kept.
  • The 20 m long and 3 m wide bridge crosses the Lausset in one piece without piers. The bridge was designed by Gustave Eiffel , but it was built in 1891 by Labas in Bayonne, two years after the World Exhibition in Paris .
