Willi Padge

Willi Padge (born October 4, 1943 in Mölln ) is a former German rower . He won Olympic gold in Rome in 1960.

Willi Padge started for the Ratzeburg rowing club . In 1958 he was the helmsman in the eighth that was newly formed by coach Karl Adam and won the German championships. In 1959 Adam formed an eight from rowers from his Ratzeburg rowing club and from ATV Ditmarsia Kiel . This racing community became German champions with the line-up of Klaus Bittner , Karl-Heinz Hopp , Hans Lenk , Manfred Rulffs , Frank Schepke , Kraft Schepke , Walter Schröder and Karl-Heinrich von Groddeck with Padge as helmsman.
