The 2002/03 UEFA Cup was the 32nd edition of the competition and was won by FC Porto against Celtic Glasgow . The final took place in the Olympic Stadium in Seville .

mode

All clubs that had occupied one of the UEFA Cup places regulated by the UEFA five-year ranking at the end of last season were eligible to participate . As in the previous year, three clubs qualified for the first round via the UEFA Intertoto Cup . The competition was played in seven rounds in two legs (excluding the finals). In the event of a tie, the number of goals scored away was decided first , then overtime, if no decision was reached after 15 minutes twice, a penalty shoot-out followed until the winner was determined. In the third round, the eight clubs eliminated from the first group stage of the Champions League as third-placed clubs joined the field of participants.

qualification

The first leg took place on August 15, the second leg on August 29, 2002.
