DFB Cup 2014/15

The 2015/16 DFB-Pokal was the 73rd edition of the men's soccer cup competition. The final took place on May 21, 2016 and, as has been customary since 1985, was held in the Berlin Olympic Stadium. FC Bayern Munich won the cup with a 4-3 penalty against Borussia Dortmund .

The DFB Cup winner would have been given the right to start in the group stage of the 2016/17 UEFA Europa League . Since FC Bayern (like Borussia Dortmund) had already qualified for the UEFA Champions League via the Bundesliga , the sixth in the Bundesliga final table, 1. FSV Mainz 05 , moved from qualification to the group stage and seventh, Hertha BSC , received the free place in the qualification as an additional participant.

As in previous years, only one team per club or corporation was allowed to take part in the games for the DFB club cup.
