- August 11th : The fourth Women's World Games open in London . Under pressure from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), it will be the last event of its kind.

- July: The German Nanga Parbat Expedition in 1934 , led by Willy Merkl, ends in a catastrophe in which 11 expedition members are killed. The Nanga Parbat is then hyped up by the National Socialist propaganda as the “German mountain of fate”.
Boxing
- August 26th : Max Schmeling and Walter Neusel fight in the heavyweight division on the converted sand race track at Hagenbeck's zoo. Around 100,000 spectators see the fight, which is the largest crowd at a boxing event in Europe to date (2015). Schmeling won in the 9th round.

European motorcycle championship
- At the European motorcycle championship held on the Dutch Circuit van Drenthe , Belgian Yvan Goor won the title in the 175 cm³ class on a Benelli ahead of his compatriots “Dickwell” (Barbé- JAP ) and Maurice van Geert (Rush- Blackburne ).
- In the quarter liter class, the German Walfried Winkler on DKW prevailed against the British Les Archer ( New Imperial ) and his compatriot Arthur Geiss (also DKW).
- In the 350s, the Briton Jimmie Simpson wins his fifth and last European Championship title on Norton . He is followed by the two Velocette pilots Walter Rusk from Northern Ireland and Alec Mitchell from Great Britain.
- In the 500 cm³ class, Belgian Pol Demeuter won on FN ahead of his compatriot and team mate “Noir” and local Arie van der Pluym ( Husqvarna ).
