The list of streets and places in Berlin-Friedrichsfelde is an overview of the streets and places in the Berlin district of Friedrichsfelde in the Lichtenberg district, either historically or currently. At the same time, this compilation is one of the lists of all Berlin streets and squares .

overview

Residential district (green) and traffic routes around Alt-Friedrichsfelde

The district can be divided into different quarters according to its growth : the area of the historic town center around Alfred-Kowalke-Straße , the area north and south of Einbecker Straße (then Neu-Lichtenberg ), the ' Splanemann-Siedlung ' (in the 1920s Years one of the first housing estates with prefabricated buildings ), the Sewanviertel on both sides of the Sewanstrasse (built in the 1960s as Hans-Loch -viertel and almost completely given the names of waters), the residential area Rosenfelder Ring (built in the mid-1960s), the Gensinger Quarter (created around 1980 and expanded from 1998) and initially six 'colonies' or allotment gardens (KGA). Due to changes in the area within the district in 2001, the KGA 'Alwin Bielefeldt' came to the Lichtenberg district, so that Friedrichsfelde only has five allotment gardens. Clear principles of street naming are not recognizable, partly because of multiple renaming.

Numerous residential buildings were built between 1924 and 1931 because the then Berlin City Council had decided to levy a house interest tax . These special levies from homeowners were used to grant affordable loans for non-profit housing construction. The urban, trade union and cooperative housing associations , which were quickly established, had Neu-Lichtenberg - the western extension of Alt-Friedrichsfelde towards Lichtenberger Kiez - built on a large scale . Long rows of streets with light courtyards without backyards were completed according to plans by important architects of the time. This is how the 'Sonnenhof', 'Ulmenhof' and 'Pappelhof' residential complexes were created.

Friedrichsfelde and its streets were first listed in the Berlin address book in 1897.

Friedrichsfelde has 53,813 inhabitants (as of December 30, 2019) and includes the postal code areas 10315, 10317 and 10319.

For squares, the dimensions are given in the form a × b for rectangular systems and for (approximately) triangular systems as a × b × c with a as the longest side.
If the street continues into neighboring districts, the addition ' in the district ' indicates how long the street section within the district of this article is.
  • Name origin : origin or reference of the name.
  • Notes : further information on adjacent monuments or institutions, the history of the street and historical names.

1815 Animal park July 15, 1961 The road leads in a north-south direction from the Alt-Friedrichsfelde junction to the railway bridge under the VnK route south of the zoo, where it continues as Treskowallee in the Karlshorst district . Called the Chaussee to Cöpenick in the 18th century , the traffic route was named Schloßstraße in 1897 because it led past Friedrichsfelde Castle . After the completion of the zoo on the former castle grounds, the street was given its current name, with the northern section of the former Treskowallee (initially referred to as Extended Schloßstraße ) being added. The northern section between Alfred-Kowalke-Straße and Alt-Friedrichsfelde was a bottleneck in terms of traffic for decades, so that it was widened between 2009 and 2013. The tram got its own track bed in the middle; at the same time rainwater and water pipes were renewed. The Lichtenberg district office and the BVG made around 11 million euros available for this.

The Friedrichsfelde village church , the Tierpark underground station and the TierparkCenter shopping center are on the street. The M17, 27 and 37 tram lines pass through the entire length. In the area of the bear shop window there are three fountains that were installed in 1978 and 1982. One is dedicated to Theodor Fontane and comes from the workshop of Hans-Detlev Hennig , the other is called 'Spree und Havel' and was made based on templates by Dietrich Grüning , the third was named 'Märkischer Brunnen' and designed by Christiane Wartenberg .
