Jimramov (German Ingrowitz , older also Ingerwitz ) is a place with 1281 inhabitants at the confluence of the Svratka and Fryšavka on the border between Bohemia and Moravia in the Vysočina region . The town is away from the main traffic routes.
history
The town was founded in the 13th century by Jimram ( Emmeram ) von Pernstein . It was first mentioned in documents in 1361 when Artleb von Starchowycz built the Skály Castle . The Pernstein were granted some privileges during their reign, which were confirmed by Emperor Ferdinand I in 1537 . The place has kept its ancient appearance to this day. In 1778 Marie Antonia von Waldorf sold the rule to the Moravian family of Italian descent Belcredi , who lived here until 1948 in their castle, which was returned to them in 1991. The houses around the market square form a listed ensemble. Jimramov has been a Městys since 2006 .
