The Randolph County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Cuthbert .

The county is located in southwest Georgia, about 30 km from the eastern border of Alabama and has an area of 1,116 square kilometers, of which four square kilometers are water surface, and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Webster County , Terrell County , Calhoun County , Clay County , Quitman County and Stewart County .
history
Randolph County was formed on December 20, 1828 as the 75th county in Georgia from parts of Lee County. It was named after John Randolph of Virginia , Republican US Senator and a descendant of Pocahontas . The first seat of the county government was Lumpkin . But after this became the seat of the county administration of Stewart County , which was formed from Randolph County, the seat was moved to Cuthbert.

36.6% of the population identified themselves as whites, 61.8% as African American , 0.1% as Indians and 0.3% as Asian Americans . 0.5% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 0.8% to several ethnic groups. 1.5% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .
The average annual income per household was 30,358 USD , while 28.7% of the population lived below the poverty line.
