- April 29th : The Association of Brandenburg Ball Game Clubs is founded under pressure from the German Football Association ( DFB) through the merger of the Association of Berlin Ball Game Clubs , the Märkischer Football Association and the Association of Berlin Athletics Clubs .
- German soccer championship 1910/11 : Berlin TuFC Viktoria 89 wins the final on June 4th against VfB Leipzig 3-1. Willi Worpitzky from Berlin is the top scorer.
- Swiss Football Championship 1910/11 : Young Boys Bern become Swiss football champions.
- The Lower Austrian Football Association organizes the first official Austrian football championship to which only Viennese clubs are allowed.
- The merger of the Frankfurt pioneer clubs Frankfurter FC Victoria 1899 and Frankfurter Kickers creates the Frankfurter FV , forerunner of Eintracht Frankfurt .

- April 3 : Ellen Hayes , USA, jumps 10.21 m in the women's triple jump in Sweetbriar, making it the first woman over ten meters.
- May 30th : Dan Ahearn , USA, jumps 15.52 m in the men's triple jump. A year later, this distance is recognized as the first official world record in this discipline.
- June 4th : Hermann Müller , Germany, walks the men's 20,000 meters in 1:38:43 h.
- November 16 : Jean Bouin , France, runs the men's 10,000 meters in 30: 58.8 minutes.
Motorsport
- May 30th : The Indianapolis 500-mile race takes place for the first time at Indianapolis Motor Speedway . The winner is Ray Harroun on a Marmon Wasp , which takes 6 hours, 42 minutes and 11 seconds for the 500 miles. This corresponds to an average speed of 116.89 km / h. The race led to motorsport euphoria in the USA and resulted in the construction of many more speedway tracks.

- May 15 - June 6 : Giro d'Italia 1911 , Carlo Galetti repeats his overall victory from the previous year. The French Lucien Petit-Breton is the only non-Italian to win a stage.
- 21st - 27. May : Across Germany in 1911 , the overall winner is Hans Ludwig , who is also the six-day race in Mainz wins.

- 13. bis 15. January : Hockey Tournament in Les Avants 1911
- February 15 to 17 : As in the previous year, four teams will take part in the 1911 European Ice Hockey Championship . In addition to the teams from Belgium , Switzerland and Germany that participated in 1910 , a representative from Bohemia is playing for the first time, but defending champion Great Britain is missing . The Czech national ice hockey team becomes European champion with three wins and only one goal conceded.

- The US-American Anders Haugen reached the distance of 46.3 meters in ski jumping on Wolverine Hill in Ironwood, USA.
- The Austrian Paula von Lamberg , "the flying countess", achieved a jump distance of 22 meters on the Schattbergschanze in Kitzbühel "in a long skirt and impeccable posture" .
