Bickenholtz (German Bickenholz ) is a French commune with 81 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins .
geography
Bickenholtz is located about twelve kilometers northeast of Sarrebourg at an altitude between 298 and 334 m above sea level. The municipality covers 2.46 km². The A4 (Strasbourg – Paris) runs through the municipality .
history
The small village was founded in 1630 and was called Sainte-Marie-de-Bickenholtz until 1863 . In 1766 it became part of France, from 1871 to 1918 it became part of the German Empire and from 1919 back to France.
