Michael Johnson ended his career with this relay race. It was the last race of his farewell tour called the Golden Lap Victory Tour . After his gold medal at the 2000 Olympic Games , he had not contested an individual race. After the victory of the US season, the fans celebrated him with a standing ovation. For Johnson it was the fourth Goodwill Games.
