Lesse is a French commune with 206 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins .

geography

Lesse is located about eight kilometers northwest of Morhange at an altitude between 228 and 355 m above sea level. The municipality covers 8.44 km². The hamlets of Outremont and Bois Blanc belong to Lesse . The Paris-Strasbourg railway line ( LGV Est européenne ) runs just north of the town center .

history

The village has belonged to France since 1661 and carried the German name Lesch from 1915-1918 and 1940-1944 .
