February 16 : The Cabal of Hypocrites by Mikhail Bulgakov premieres in the Moscow Art Theater . The play is banned after seven performances on March 9th.

May 13th : After the dress rehearsal of Mikhail Bulgakov's comedy Ivan Vasilievich in the Moscow Satirical Theater, the play is banned and will not be performed until 1967/1968.

The librettos Minin and Poscharski as well as The Black Sea by Michail Bulgakow are created .
June: Two months before his violent death completed Federico García Lorca 's work House of Bernarda Alba ( La Casa de Bernarda Alba ) on the role of women and their oppression in Spain in the 1930s.
