Villers-sur-Nied (until 1919 Villers-aux-Oies ) is a French commune with 73 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins .

Villers-sur-Nied is located southeast of Metz an der Nied at an altitude between 244 and 358 m above sea level, the mean height is 250 m. The municipality covers 4.25 km².

history

The small village belonged to France from 1661 to 1871 and carried the Germanized name Niedweiler from 1915-18 and 1940-44 .
