The White County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Cleveland .

geography

The county is located in northern Georgia, about 25 miles to the north from North Carolina and about 50 miles to the east from South Carolina . It covers an area of ​​627 square kilometers, of which two square kilometers are water, and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Habersham County , Hall County , Lumpkin County , Union County, and Towns Counties .

history

White County was formed on December 22, 1857 as the 123rd County of Georgia from parts of Habersham County. It was named after David T. White , a future representative of the county.
