The White County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Cleveland .
geography
The county is located in northern Georgia, about 25 miles to the north from North Carolina and about 50 miles to the east from South Carolina . It covers an area of 627 square kilometers, of which two square kilometers are water, and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Habersham County , Hall County , Lumpkin County , Union County, and Towns Counties .
history
White County was formed on December 22, 1857 as the 123rd County of Georgia from parts of Habersham County. It was named after David T. White , a future representative of the county.

According to the 2010 census, the then 27,144 inhabitants were distributed over 10,646 inhabited households, which gives an average of 2.52 people per household. There are a total of 16,062 households.
72.8% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring) with an average size of 2.93 persons. Children under the age of 18 lived in 31.4% of all households and persons aged 65 or over in 31.6% of all households.
