Héming (German Heming , 1940-44 Hemingen ) is a French commune with 498 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins .

The municipality of Héming is located on the Rhine-Marne Canal , about eight kilometers southwest of Sarrebourg at an altitude of between 255 and 322 m above sea level. The municipality covers 3.69 km².

history

The place was first mentioned in 1178 as Emmingen (1267: Helmingen, 1672: Heimingen).

The village has belonged to France since 1661.
