  • April 3rd / 4th : Before leaving for the Russian front, the German teacher Hans Leip wrote the first three stanzas of the song Lili Marleen along with a melody that has largely been forgotten today.

Under the title Comedy of Words , three one-act plays by Arthur Schnitzler will be published in book form and will be premiered simultaneously on October 12, 1915 in three theaters in Vienna, Darmstadt and Frankfurt am Main.

  • Two issues of the Portuguese-Brazilian literary magazine Orpheu appear with an extraordinary response in Portugal , which has to be discontinued afterwards.
  • September 10 : The first edition of the satirical magazine Le Canard enchaîné, founded by Maurice Maréchal, Jeanne Maréchal and Henri-Paul Deyvaux-Gassier, appears in France .
