The Pierce County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Blackshear .

The county is located in southeast Georgia, about 90 km from both the Atlantic Ocean and the northern Florida border, and covers 891 square kilometers, of which two square kilometers are water, and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Wayne County , Brantley County , Ware County , Bacon County, and Appling County .
history
Pierce County was formed on December 8, 1857 as the 119th County of Georgia from parts of Ware County. It was named after Franklin Pierce , the 14th President of the United States.
