The Pike County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Zebulon .

Located in mid-northwest Georgia, about 50 miles to the west from Alabama , the county covers an area of 568 square kilometers, of which three square kilometers are water, and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Spalding County , Lamar County , Upson County, and Meriwether County .
The county is part of the metropolitan area of Atlanta .
history
Pike County was formed on December 9, 1822 as the 57th county in Georgia from parts of Monroe County. Like the city of Zebulon, it was named after Zebulon Montgomery Pike , the leader of an expedition along the Mississippi River .

According to the 2010 census, the then 17,869 inhabitants were distributed over 6,187 inhabited households, which gives an average of 2.84 people per household. There are a total of 6,820 households.
