Premier League 2006/07

The 2007/08 Premier League was the 16th season of the English Premier League , and at the same time the 109th first division season in English football. It started on August 11, 2007 and ended on May 11, 2008. The first goal of the 2007/08 season was scored by Michael Chopra from newly promoted AFC Sunderland with his decisive goal to 1-0 against Tottenham Hotspur in the 94th minute of the game.

Defending champions Manchester United won the Premiership title for the tenth time and the 17th championship trophy with a 2-0 win at Wigan Athletic on the final matchday.

After a 2-2 draw in the 32nd game of the season against Fulham , Derby County was the first to be relegated from the Premier League on March 29, 2008. The "Rams" were at the same time the first team in the history of the Premier League, which could no longer achieve relegation in March. The Reading FC and newly promoted Birmingham City also dismounted.
