Saint-Louis (German Sankt Ludwig bei Pfalzburg , 1940-44 Heiersberg ) is a French commune with 665 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins . The inhabitants call themselves Ludoviciens .

Saint-Louis is about ten kilometers east of Sarrebourg at an altitude between 215 and 393 m above sea level, the mean height is 360 m. The municipality covers 9.28 km².
The two courtyards Henning ( Heningerhof ) and Nudelhoff ( Nudelhof ) belong to the municipality of Saint-Louis .
history
The place was founded in 1629 by Ludwig von Lothringen-Guise and already destroyed and depopulated in 1634. Reconstruction and repopulation of the place did not begin until 1705. During the French Revolution , Saint-Louis was temporarily called Heyersberg .
