The J.League Division 2 2007 was the ninth season of the Japanese J.League Division 2 . Thirteen clubs took part in it. The season began on March 3 and ended on December 1, 2007, the relegation games with the table sixteenth of Division 1 2007 were played on December 5 and 8.
Master and thus promoted to the J.League Division 1 2008 was Consadole Sapporo . In addition to Yokohama, the runner-up Tokyo Verdy 1969 and third-placed Kyōto Sanga rose, Kyōto prevailed in the relegation in two games over Sanfrecce Hiroshima .

The season was played in a double double round tournament, the clubs played four times against each other, twice at home and twice away; By increasing the field of participants to 13 clubs, there were a total of 48 games per team. There were three points for a win and one point for a draw. The table was created according to the following criteria:

- Goal difference
- Goals scored
- Results of the games among themselves
- Decision game or coin toss
The two clubs with the most points rose to the 2008 J.League Division 1 at the end of the season . The table third played with the table sixteenth of the J.League Division 1 2007 in a return leg for another place in Division 1. In the event of a tie after the end of these two games, the away goals rule was applied; should this not result in a decision either, extra time and, if necessary, a penalty shoot- out was carried out.
Attendees
A total of thirteen teams took part in the season. At the end of the preseason, three clubs were promoted to Division 1 2007 . Master Yokohama FC made it to Division 1 for the first time since it was founded eight years ago as the successor club to the Yokohama Wing, which had merged with city rivals Marinos. Vice- champion Kashiwa Reysol, on the other hand, managed a direct return to J1. In the relegation for a place in Japan's top division, third-placed Vissel Kobe prevailed against Division 1-sixteenth Avispa Fukuoka after two draws thanks to the away goals rule .
In addition to Fukuoka, two other clubs were relegated. Like the club from the island of Kyushu , the bottom of the table Kyōto Purple Sanga returned to the Japanese second division after only one season. Kyōto also changed the club name after relegation and appeared from then on as Kyōto Sanga . The two teams were accompanied by the penultimate Cerezo Osaka , who fell back to Division 2 for the second time after four years in Division 1.

- Avispa Fukuoka played a home game at the Nagasaki Athletic Stadium in Nagasaki , Nagasaki .
- Cerezo Osaka used two of the three stadiums in Nagai Park during the season. Eight games were played in the 47,000-seat Nagai Stadium and thirteen games in the 15,000-seat Nagai Second Stadium. In addition, one game each took place in the Miki Athletic Stadium in Miki , Hyōgo, in the Tecnoport Fukui Stadium in Sakai , Fukui and in the Tottori Bank Bird Stadium in Tottori , Tottori .
- Consadole Sapporo played eleven home games at the Sapporo Dome and nine at the Sapporo Atsubetsu Stadium. In addition, there were two home games at the Muroran Irie Stadium in Muroran , Hokkaidō and one each in the Hakodate Chiyogaidai Park Athletic Stadium in Hakodate , Hokkaidō and the Nishigaoka Soccer Stadium in Tokyo.
- Kyōto Sanga played two home games at the Kagoshima Kamoike Stadium in Kagoshima , Kagoshima and one game at the Tecnoport Fukui Stadium in Sakai, Fukui.
- Mito HollyHock played one home game each at Hitachinaka City Stadium in Hitachinaka , Ibaraki, Mito Stadium in Mito, Ibaraki, Hitachi Athletic Stadium in Hitachi , Ibaraki and Ashikaga Athletic Stadium in Ashikaga , Gunma.
- Sagan Tosu played three home games at the Saga Athletic Stadium in Saga , Saga.
- Thespa Kusatsu played two home games at the Matsumotodaira Football Stadium in Matsumoto , Nagano and one home game at the Kumagaya Athletic Stadium in Kumagaya , Saitama .
- Tokushima Vortis played a home game at Kagawa Marugame Stadium in Takamatsu , Kagawa . The Pocarisweat Stadium was called Naruto Athletic Park Stadium until April 30, 2007 .
- Tokyo Verdy 1969 played five home games at the Olympic Stadium and four home games at the Nishigaoka Soccer Stadium .

In the relegation for a place in Division 1 for the coming season, last year's relegated Kyōto Sanga met third in the table on Sanfrecce Hiroshima , sixteenth in Division 2. For the third time in a row, the second division prevailed; after a narrow 2-1 in the first leg in Kyoto, Sanga reached a goalless draw in Hiroshima to manage the direct resurgence.
