The J.League Division 2 2011 was the twelfth season of the Japanese J.League Division 2 . Twenty clubs took part in it. The season started on March 5 and ended on December 3, 2011; due to the Tōhoku earthquake on March 11, 2011, the competition was interrupted after only one game day until April 23, the canceled games were made up during the season.
Master and thus promoted to the J.League Division 1 2012 was FC Tokyo . In addition to Tokyo, runner-up Sagan Tosu and third-placed Consadole Sapporo also rose.

The clubs played a double round tournament ; thus there were a total of 38 games per team. There were three points for a win and one point for a draw. The table was created according to the following criteria:
- Number of points scored
- Goal difference
- Goals scored
- Results of the games among themselves
- Decision game or coin toss
The three clubs with the most points rose to the J.League Division 1 2012 at the end of the season .
Attendees
A total of twenty teams took part in the season, one more than in the previous season. At the end of the preseason three clubs were promoted to Division 1 2011 . Master Kashiwa Reysol was able to repair the second relegation from the House of Lords at the end of the 2009 season, the runner-up Ventforet Kofu rose to Division 1 for the second time after three years in Division 2; The third-placed Avispa Fukuoka dared his third attempt in Division 1 after four years in Division 2.
The three promoted teams were replaced by three clubs from Division 1. Table sixteenth FC Tokyo last played in the 1999 season in the House of Commons, Seventeenth Kyōto Sanga returned to the second division after three seasons and bottom Shonan Bellmare found himself again in Division 2 after just one year in the House of Lords.
The field of participants was completed by Gainare Tottori , champion of the Japan Football League 2010 .

Remarks
- Consadole Sapporo played nine home games at the Sapporo Atsubetsu Stadium and eight at the Sapporo Dome. In addition, there was a home game each at the Muroran Irie Stadium in Muroran , Hokkaidō and in the Hakodate Chiyogaidai Park Athletic Stadium in Hakodate , Hokkaidō.
- Fagiano Okayama played a home game at the Tsuyama Athletics Stadium in Tsuyama , Okayama.
- Roasso Kumamoto played two games at the Kumamoto Suizenji Stadium in Kumamoto.
- Thespa Kusatsu played a home game at the Kumagaya Athletic Stadium in Kumagaya , Saitama .
- FC Tokyo played three home games at the Tokyo Olympic Stadium and one game each at the Komazawa Olympic Park Stadium and the Kumagaya Athletic Stadium in Kumagaya, Saitama.
- Tokyo Verdy played four home games at the Tokyo Olympic Stadium and one game at the Komazawa Olympic Park Stadium.
- Yokohama FC played one home game at the Nishigaoka Soccer Stadium in Tokyo and one at the Tokyo Olympic Stadium.
