List of members of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg (12th electoral term)
This list gives an overview of all members of the 12th Baden-Wuerttemberg Landtag (1996-2001) with parliamentary group membership , constituency and share of votes.
The 12th state parliament was elected on March 24, 1996. The first plenary session took place on June 11, 1996, the last on February 21, 2001. The legislative period lasted from June 1, 1996 to May 31, 2001.
Composition of the state parliament
In the state elections, the CDU emerged as the strongest party with 41.3 percent of the vote, the SPD received 25.1 percent, Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen 12.1 percent, the FDP / DVP 9.6 percent and The Republicans (REP ) 9.1 percent:

Bureau
The Presidium of the 12th State Parliament consisted of 21 members. President was Peter Straub (CDU). His two deputies were Frieder Birzele (SPD) and Gerhard Weiser (CDU).
