The 8th electoral period of the Reichstag of the " Weimar Republic " was subsequently declared the 1st electoral period "after Adolf Hitler came to power".

* Due to the ordinance of the Reich President for the Protection of People and State of February 28, 1933, the Reich Government canceled the mandates of the KPD on March 8, 1933.

** With Section 1 of the Ordinance on Securing Government of July 7, 1933, issued by the Reich Minister of the Interior Wilhelm Frick (NSDAP) on the basis of Section 18 of the Provisional Act on the Coordination of the Länder with the Reich of March 31 , 1933, all members of the SPD and DStP revoked the mandate.

At the beginning of the constituent session of the 8th Reichstag on March 21, 1933, the President of the 7th electoral term Hermann Göring (NSDAP) announced that § 13 of the Rules of Procedure for the Reichstag , which previously provided for the opening of the first session by the senior president , " overruled "and the Reichstag is therefore opened by the executive president - that is, by himself - in accordance with Article 27 of the Constitution of the German Reich . The president and deputy were elected by acclamation.
