Saint-Sauveur ( Picard : Saint-Sauveu ) is a northern French municipality with 1376 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens , is part of the Communauté de communes Nièvre et Somme and belongs to the canton of Ailly-sur-Somme .

geography

Saint-Sauveur is located around five kilometers northwest of Amiens between La Chaussée-Tirancourt and Argœuves on the right (north) bank of the Somme , whose valley is interspersed with ponds, opposite Ailly-sur-Somme , to which it is connected by a bridge, on the Départementsstraße D191. The departmental road D1001 bypasses the community in the north. To the north, the municipality extends over the Autoroute A16 and the Départementstraße D12 (section of the historic Chaussée Brunehaut ) to the border with the municipalities of Saint-Vaast-en-Chaussée and Vaux-en-Amiénois .
