history

In 1443 the place is mentioned for the first time under the name "in the Hole" in an income and rights list of the Cologne Apostelstift. The Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715 shows a courtyard at the location of Unterholl and designates it with "Holl" . The topographical recording of the Rhineland from 1824 shows in the enclosed courtyard under the name “Nied. Holl ” three separate floor plans. From the Prussian first recording in 1844 the place name Unterholl is used.
