Büchel is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Büchel is located in the southwest of Wipperfürth near the border with Kürten. Neighboring towns are Berghausen , Jörgensmühle and Alfen .

The place belongs to the electoral district 150 and thus to the district of Thier .

history

In 1443 the place is mentioned for the first time under the name "op dem Bockel" in an income and rights list of the Cologne Apostelstift. The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows three courtyards and designates them with "bow" . The topographical photograph of the Rhineland from 1825 shows four separate floor plans in a delimited courtyard. The place name on this map is "Buchel" . The name Büchel was used in the Prussian premiere in 1840.

In the area of ​​the village there are three road crosses from the years 1760, 1886 and 1960.
