Weier is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is in the southwest of the city of Wipperfürth south of the federal highway 506 on the outskirts of Wipperfeld. The Wipperfelder Bach flows through the village. Neighboring places are Wipperfeld , Fahlenbock , Unterholl and Lamsfuß .

Politically, the place is represented by the direct candidate of electoral district 16 (160) Wipperfeld in the council of the city of Wipperfürth.

history

The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows a farm in “Weyer” . The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 records the place on a delimited courtyard under the name "Weiher" . From the Prussian first recording in 1844, the place name Weier is used. From the topographic map of 1989, the place name is no longer mentioned.
