Aubigny ( Picard : Aubignin) is a northern French municipality with 505 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens and in the canton of Amiens-4 and is part of the Communauté de communes du Val de Somme .
geography
The commuter community, located in the valley on the left bank of the Somme opposite the mouth of the Ancre, immediately southwest of Corbie on the D1 from Amiens to Péronne and D167, is crossed by the Paris – Lille railway line , whose stopping point is Daours on the border with Daours in the Municipality lies. The center of the village lies between the D1, the railway line and the Somme. There are several factories in the bend of the Somme, including the pet food manufacturer Nestlé-Purina. The Ferme Parfonval is fairly isolated in the southwest of the municipality, which extends in the south to the D1029 département road (formerly Route nationale 29 ) and slightly beyond the Amiens - Laon regional railway line.
history
Aubigny is mentioned in 662 in the founding deed of Corbie Abbey . In 1527 a new church was built on a piece of land made available by Corbie Abbey. In 1636 the place was burned down during the siege of Corbie. The church was rebuilt in 1821. Around the same time, the Somme was being sewn in the commune. The railway line was built in 1846, the Daours stop not until 1872.
In 1918 the community was heavily bombed. Heavy fighting took place in May 1940; Wounded members of the Tirailleurs sénégalais who had been captured were liquidated by members of the 13th Infantry Division of the Wehrmacht on May 24, 1940.
The community received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .
